About the Band
Townsville originally formed in 2017 and quickly built a reputation for delivering dynamic, emotionally driven rock with an atmospheric edge. After a few years on hiatus, the band is back, and they’re picking up right where they left off, with a renewed energy and a sound that’s more textured, spacey, and sonically adventurous than ever.
Blending influences from Radiohead to Rush, The Cure to System of a Down, their music pulls from all corners of the alt-rock spectrum. Expect echoing guitar tones, bold basslines, and rhythmic turns that’ll keep you guessing. There’s melody, there’s grit, and there’s heart in every note.
“We lean into that late ‘90s and early 2000s vibe but put a modern twist on it,” says frontman Michael Cortez. “It’s emotional. It’s loud. It’s us.”
Think Muse meets The Killers, with a healthy dose of cinematic sound design and unexpected turns.

Meet The MEMBERS:
Michael Cortez – Guitarist/Vocalist
Michael brings the heart of Townsville’s sound, layering shimmering guitar textures with raw, emotional vocals. His musical influences include Radiohead, Beabadoobee, and U2, which show up in the band’s moody melodies and unexpected twists.
Mark Ghoprial – Bass
Mark lays down the heavy low end that drives the band’s signature sound. Inspired by The Cure, Turnstile, and System of a Down, his basslines add both edge and elegance.
Zac Imperial – Drums
Zac’s drumming brings intensity and precision, powering each track with rhythms influenced by Rush, Journey, and Stone Sour. He’s the force that holds it all together on stage and in the studio.

They’ll be performing new tracks and fan favorites, blending spacey textures, gritty energy, and bold hooks.
